I just read more news about notorious scams in 2009. One of the more interesting scams that has been making headlines recently is the so called ‘Nigerian scam’, or ‘419’.A woman or a man claims that her husband/wife/father/mother has died and that he/she has left her a huge fortune, which absolutely has to be invested in a country other than Africa. In return for your participation in covering the ‘legal’ fees that must be paid for such a large investment to be carted out safely, you will be given a substantial portion of the fortune.
Countless numbers of people have been cheated of their money by these scams. Beware if you have received an email from anyone claiming that they are ready to give you a lot of money (why would anyone?!) in return for some dubious service.
